Senior Management

Mark Andrews

Mark Andrews

Mark started his career working his way up the ladder at one of the country’s leading actuarial and employee benefits consultants, Noble Lowndes & Partners,  that eventually became part of Mercers through a succession of mergers. He worked in all areas of pensions: administration, technical and consultancy.

Still at Noble Lowndes, in 1992 Mark completed the final two of the eight Pensions Management Institute (PMI) exams to become an Associate (APMI) and, in 2018, he was elected to the position of Fellow (FPMI).

Mark has been a part-time tutor in various subjects for the PMI and was also once one of the youngest OPAS advisers in the country.

Since leaving Noble Lowndes Mark has worked for two other well known firms: KPMG and Latham, Crossley & Davis Chartered Accountants (now part of Baker Tilly).

Mark continued with his professional studies by becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), for which he won the first ever award of the Jonathon Timms Memorial prize in 2000. (Since then, the IFP merged with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, of which Mark became a Chartered Fellow in 2018.) Mark is also an Associate of The Personal Finance Society (APFS) and a Chartered Financial Planner.

Mark is the MD and founder of Redswan. His early years in pensions gave him an excellent foundation on which to build and, later in his career, specialise in the self-administered market through his own companies since 2001.

Gareth Davies

Gareth Davies

Gareth has worked in the financial services industry his entire working career (more than 20 years).

He started his career with Manchester based Co-operative Insurance Society spending more than 10 years with this company. It was here that he trained and qualified as a financial adviser at the same time also completing his Financial Planning Certificate.

In subsequent years, in which time Gareth worked as a financial adviser within other firms, he worked towards and completed his Advanced Financial Planning Certificate with the subjects biased towards pensions. One particular notable achievement was passing the Pensions module, G60, with distinction.

In 2004, Gareth decided to focus his career specifically in the area of self-administered pensions and accepted a role in the actuarial team at Santhouse Whittington.

In January 2006, Gareth accepted the offer of a senior position with Redswan. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of Redswan’s pension division in addition to managing and providing technical support to a portfolio of client accounts.

In his leisure time he enjoys travelling, football and languages – in particular Spanish, which he speaks fluently.
